PRP Hair

Crown and Skin in Campbelltown, Sydney offer PRP as a solution to hair loss

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a completely natural procedure that utilises growth factors harvested from your own body to stimulate follicles and encourage new hair to grow. PRP is effective to stimulate recently transplanted hair follicles, or can be used as a compliment to an existing hair loss medication regime.

Crown and Skin is part of the ICCM group – Sydney’s most popular destination for PRP, having performed over 2,000 PRP treatments!

Because PRP effectively uses a product from your own body, it is completely safe and is highly effective for both men and women in early stages of hair loss.  Results of PRP hair treatment are visible within 6 months.

What is PRP?

The blood in our body is in constant circulation, ensuring that all the cells in our body are provided with nutrients and oxygen as well as providing waste removal. Blood is mostly liquid, but this has many cells and proteins suspended in it.

Plasma is a liquid that makes up about half of the content of our blood. Plasma contains antibodies and transports nutrients including salts, proteins, and enzymes through the body. It also contains platelets, which in turn contain growth factors that are responsible for repairing damage and injuries in the body.

PRP is derived from this plasma and the platelets it contains. The growth factors within the platelets contain the proteins and growth factors needed to stimulate hair follicle growth, increase circulation to hair follicles and decrease the inflammation that accelerates hair loss.

Here at Crown and Skin we only use high quality PRP products and conduct our treatments in a sterile, clinical environment. PRP is a complete system designed to deliver an increased concentration of bioactive factors and proteins. Each step of the process has been optimised to ensure the quality and efficacy of the product, so patients experience maximum regenerative results. We use only PRP approved materials, as substituting normal blood collecting tubes or different anticoagulants can alter the PH and behaviour of the final product.

The PRP Process

While the scalp is being cleansed and having numbing cream applied, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient. This blood is the put into a centrifuge to separate out the blood components and produce the PRP. This is then injected or otherwise infused into the areas of hair loss. Patients will be able to return to normal activities after the treatment.

All PRP treatments are performed in a sterile environment by our highly trained and experienced team.

By harnessing the growth factors within the blood and then delivering a concentrated dose to the affected scalp and hair follicles, the follicles are stimulated to grow hair. The follicles that are in the resting phase (telogen) may be urged into growth, and this will appear as new hair growth.

PRP can help with:

  • Slowing the rate of hair loss
  • Stimulating regrowth of thinning hair so that it becomes thicker and fuller
  • Enhancing the scalp’s health and condition
  • Stimulating collagen levels
  • Preparation of the scalp for hair transplantation
  • Supporting hair transplantation post-op

PRP can also effectively assist in the treatment of skin and scalp conditions including:

  • Dry, itchy and inflamed scalp
  • Genetic Hair Loss
  • Alopecia areata
  • Telogen effluvium (commonly caused by stress)

Treatments start at $350 per session with our specialist PRP team.
